Vol. 193 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roscommon Drainage Schemes.

19.

asked the Minister for Finance what proposals he has in hand for County Roscommon under the intermediate drainage schemes.

An engineering survey of the Knockcroghery (Ballyglass) river will be carried out this year with a view to a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945.

May I ask whether the Parliamentary Secretary has any other scheme in mind for County Roscommon, in view of the fact that at least seven very urgent schemes were submitted to the Minister for Local Government two years ago?

Yes, there are other schemes in mind. It was considered that this was the more meritorious.

The most immediate.
