Vol. 193 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal-Dublin Trunk Call Delays.

51.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the considerable delays in trunk calls between Ballybofey, County Donegal and Dublin; and, if so, if he will take immediate steps to speed up such calls.

The answer to the first part of the question is yes. The delays referred to have arisen principally because of interruptions on the trunk route over which the calls are routed. It is hoped to provide an alternative routing of trunk calls to Dublin shortly which should enable an improved service to be afforded to Ballybofey.

Are these routed through the Six Counties?

No, through Sligo.
