Vol. 193 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Tipperary Bovine T.B. Eradication Office.

16.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will reconsider the proposed closing of the bovine tuberculosis office in Tipperary in view of the grave inconvenience which it shall cause to hundreds of local farmers and the difficulties attending the eradication of the disease in that area; and what reasons technical, strategic or otherwise, are impelling him to this change which is causing such widespread discontent.

While I am at present considering comprehensive measures for accelerating the eradication of bovine tuberculosis in the six southern dairying counties, I have made no decision as to the future location of district offices in that area.
