In reply to a recent resolution of the Cork County Council asking them to carry out an immediate survey of the damage caused along the coast, the Commissioners of Public Works have informed the council that they have no authority to carry out such a survey. The Commissioners have no funds available out of which grants could be made for the repair of damage.
