asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will consider exceptionally the award of reconstruction grants to residents in southern seaside areas whose dwellings have been badly damaged by recent abnormal storms and floods.

Grants are available under the Housing Acts to meet part of the cost of works executed on dwelling houses which have been damaged by storms. Such grants may be made without reference to any other grants which may have been previously paid in respect of the houses under the Housing Acts.
