I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the value of imports originating in and domestic exports to Argentina, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Union of South Africa and India in each of the years 1957 to 1961. It is not possible to produce an index of the volume of trade for each of the specific countries mentioned but commodity data covering both quantity and value have, however, been published for most of the principal imports and exports in Table 16 of the Trade and Shipping Statistics, 1957 and in Tables XIV and XVI of the December, 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1961 issues of the Trade Statistics of Ireland and copies of these publications are available in the Oireachtas Library.
