Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - EEC and Partition.

3.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Taoiseach if the Government will endeavour to secure as one of the political aims of EEC the ending of the partition of Ireland.

While the ending of Partition is a constant objective of national policy, I regard the suggestion in the question as unrealistic.

In so far as the political aspect of the application Ireland has made to the EEC is concerned, is it a fact that Partition will not be one of the points the Irish delegation will have considered or brought to the notice of the EEC?

Any application from the I.R.A. to be reinstated in this country?
