Vol. 194 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Collooney (Sligo) Automatic Telephone System

61.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the telephone system at the industrialised village of Collooney, County Sligo is unsatisfactory; and if he will take steps to have an automatic system installed at Collooney Post Office.

I am aware that during busy periods the telephone service at Collooney is not fully satisfactory. Arrangements which are in hand to increase the number of trunk circuits in the Sligo area will improve the service for subscribers at Collooney. It is unlikely that automatic service will be introduced at Collooney for some years.
