Vol. 194 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Teaching of Design, Art and Architecture.

70.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that a panel including artists, architects, the Director of Córas Tráchtála and an industrialist, and headed by the Director of the Municipal Art Gallery, agreed that the strictures about teaching of design, art, and architecture were merited and required remedy with the minimum of delay; and, if so, what action the Government propose to take in the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my replies of 22nd February and 8th March last.

Could the Minister say whether or not it is proposed that any Government action be taken? Could I point out that I am asking the Minister for Education a question and not the Minister for Justice?

I did not say a word.
