Vol. 195 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Road Repair Grants.

42.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received an application from Mr. Samuel Robinson, Lisduff, Belmont, County Offaly in regard to the repair of a road at Lisduff, Kilcummin and Derrylahan; if so, if this application has been investigated; and if he will take steps to ensure that a suitable grant will be provided to enable the work to be undertaken without delay.

As I informed the Deputy on 19th April, this application is with the local inspector for investigation.

Since the Parliamentary Secretary has now informed Deputy O.J. Flanagan of a number of things, would he consider giving me an end to the reply he gave me before the Dáil went into recess? Will he consider giving me the answer he promised me to the end of my question?

I shall.

43.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received an application under the Rural Improvement Scheme from Mr. Patrick Behan, Derrycoris, Edenderry, County Offaly for a grant in respect of a road in Derrycoris; and if so, if he will have this proposal considered and examined without delay, as this road is in very bad repair and in need of improvement.

As I informed the Deputy on 13th April, this application is with the local inspector for investigation.

44.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received an application from Mr. Thomas Daly, Coolagh, Clonaslee, County Laois for a grant towards the repair of the worst sections of the bog road from the county road at Togher Bridge west to Thomas Daly's turf bank; and, if so, if he is aware that while a grant was provided some time ago for this work the road is now in need of further improvement; and if he will arrange for an immediate inspection and report so that a grant will be provided with the least possible delay for this urgent proposal.

As I informed the Deputy in my letter of 17th April last the papers in this case are with the local officer of the Special Employment Schemes Office for investigation. I have arranged that the report will be available when next winter's programme of bog road works is being prepared.
