Vol. 195 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Belfast Railway Line.

60.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether, in view of recent statements by the Ulster Transport Authority that it may be necessary to close the entire railway system in the Six Counties, he has had any consultations with the Authority as to the future of the Dublin-Belfast line; whether it is the intention of the Ulster Transport Authority to abandon the Goraghwood-Belfast portion of the line; and whether he intends to take any steps to ensure that the Belfast-Dublin rail link is maintained.

I can assure the Deputy that I will keep in touch with the position. For the present I have nothing to add to the information which I gave on 15th February 1962 in reply to a previous question on this subject.
