Vol. 195 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Corporation Housing Plans.

67.

asked the Minister for Local Government what the estimated needs of houses in Sligo town are; and what plans there are for the building of more houses by the Sligo Corporation.

I understand from Sligo Corporation that 55 applicants require re-housing in the town. Vacancies in the Corporation's estate total about 20 a year. Plans are in course of preparation for a further 6 houses at Doorly Park and consideration is being given to the erection of houses on a 3 acre site at the Prison Field the acquisition of which was approved in February last.
