Vol. 195 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inquiry into Litigation Costs.

58.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state approximately how long he expects the special Committee of Inquiry recently set up by him to investigate the cost of litigation, the right to jury trial in civil actions, etc., will take for their deliberations.

I am not in a position to give any estimate of the time likely to be taken by the Committee in completing their labours. The Deputy will be aware, however, that the terms of reference enable the Committee to make interim reports from time to time on matters that appear to them to merit urgent attention.

These interim reports will be published?

That is a separate question. They will certainly be considered.
