Vol. 195 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of County Tipperary River.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has any proposal for the drainage of the Ballyfinboy River near Cloughjordan, County Tipperary, which drains a large area of land in the counties of Offaly and Tipperary; if his Department have inspected this proposal; and what steps are to be taken with a view to the early drainage of this river.

The improvement of this river by way of a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, will be considered in due course. Owing to the large number of commitments in hand it has not been possible to undertake a survey nor is it possible at this stage to make any predictions about works.
