In June, 1960, the latest period for which information is available, there were in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency, 13,951 agricultural holdings of ¼ acre or more whose valuation (land and buildings) did not exceed £20. For 1,841 holdings the valuation exceeded £20 but did not exceed £30 while for a further 1,482 holdings the valuation was above £30.
Corresponding particulars for the numbers of persons whose principal occupation was "farmer" will not be available until the results of the 1961 Census of Population have been compiled.
