Vol. 195 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of Laois Drains.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make available additional money for the opening of water tables and the cleaning of drains beside and convenient to the bog and accommodation road at Rossmore, Ballyfin, County Laois, near Mr. Christopher Fitzpatrick's house in the direction of Bennett's bog; and if further inspections will be carried out as soon as possible in regard to this work.

Full-cost grants totalling £835 have been expended under bog development schemes in recent years on the repair of this road, including side drainage, and no further full-cost grants under this head would be justified at present.

If the beneficiaries desire that further work should be carried out it is open to them to apply under the contributory Rural Improvements Scheme.
