Vol. 195 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Phoenix Park Dump.

14.

andMr. Clinton asked the Minister for Finance if in view of the attraction to rats caused by, and the offensive smells from, the refuse dump in the plantation at the Chapelizod turnstile of the Phoenix Park he will have the dump removed.

Until now, no complaints have been received regarding this refuse dump which has been in use for many years. It is sited in a hollow, at a reasonable distance from the nearby roads, is screened by trees and a wall and is periodically tidied and dressed with lime. However, in view of the Deputies' representations, I am having the matter fully examined now.
