Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Charteris Estate, Cahir.

38.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have yet reached any decision as to the amount of land to be distributed and the use to be made of the mansion at the Charteris Estate, Cahir, County Tipperary; and, if so, what decision.

39.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission will consider favourably the appeal of the Rehabilitation Institute to be permitted to acquire the mansion on the Charteris Estate, Cahir, County Tipperary by means of an annuity payment.

40.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the employees on the Charteris Estate, Cahir, County Tipperary will in any way be compensated for the loss of employment which may arise from the taking-over of this estate by the Land Commission; and what will be the future position with regard to the housing of those employees who at present live on this estate.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 38, 39, and 40 together.

Arrangements are being made for the Land Commission to take possession of this 800 acre estate at an early date. Decisions have not yet been taken on the points involved in these questions but the Deputy's representations have been noted for consideration by the Land Commissioners as soon as practicable.
