Vol. 195 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 2, 3, 4—Votes 47 and 48 and then Votes 8, 9 and 10.

Will the Taoiseach say when it is intended to proceed with No. 7—the Intoxicating Liquor Bill—or is it intended to withdraw it?

It may be taken on Second Reading next week, but next week is a short week and I should not like to commit myself to it.

Why is it being pushed back in the queue? Is there any difficulty?

None whatever.

Is everybody happy about it?

Everybody has been given an opportunity of expressing views.

On the Order of Business—perhaps I should have approached the Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach about this earlier —would it be possible to defer consideration of No. 3—the motion for the adoption of an additional Standing Order—in view of the fact that there is to be a meeting of the Committee on Procedure and Privileges tonight and I understand our two representatives have handed in a motion in connection with this matter?

The meeting is to-morrow night.

We can postpone it to this day week, if you wish.

No. 3 is not to be taken then?

To be postponed for a week.

Mr. Donnellan

Will the Taoiseach say what days we are meeting next week?

Tuesday and Wednesday—Wednesday until 5 p.m.

Might I ask the Taoiseach—he may not be in a position to answer—is there a proposal to bring forward the Superannuation Bill in connection with certain members of the Department of Social Welfare and, if so, is it intended to bring it forward in this session?

I am afraid I would need notice of that. I shall let the Deputy know.

I am much obliged.
