Vol. 195 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Road Works.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each of the years 1957 to 1961 inclusive (1) what proposals for road works were submitted to his Department by the Waterford County Council, (2) the proposals which were accepted or sanctioned and (3) the proposals which were turned down or not sanctioned.

It is estimated that the number of road works submitted to the Department for execution out of grant in the period 1957/58-1961/62, inclusive, was in excess of 800. The vast majority of these were approved in their original form or following revision. A full statement of the works is not readily available and I do not think that the value of such a statement would be such as to warrant the very considerable amount of official time and research which it would take to prepare it. If the Deputy lets me know of a particular work or works in which he is interested, I will see to it that he gets all reasonable details.
