Vol. 196 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Drainage Pipes.

31.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that there is considerable delay in the supply and delivery of land drainage pipes to farmers; and if he can take any steps to rectify the position.

I am aware that some delay is occurring, mainly in the eastern and northern counties. This unusual situation is caused by a recent increase in demand, combined with the temporary closing of one factory for renovation and with the development of exports. I believe that the position is a temporary one and that manufacture will be adjusted to meet the demand.
