Vol. 196 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Clerical Employees.

51.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, with regard to the present dispute involving the clerical employees of Dublin Corporation, in the course of which the employees have imposed a ban on overtime, what attempts have been made by the City Manager to settle the dispute.

The information sought by the Deputy is not available in my Department.

52.

asked the Minister for Local Government if it is the policy of the City Manager of Dublin to employ non-union temporary employees with a view to breaking the ban on overtime imposed by the clerical employees of the Corporation.

I am not aware that Dublin Corporation have any such policy. I understand that recently additional temporary staff were recruited in the normal manner by that authority to cope with extra work of a seasonal nature which on previous occasions had been dealt with by the regular staff on overtime.
