Vol. 196 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Morrin Estate (Laois).

65.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the position in regard to the Morrin Estate at Tankardstown, Athy, County Laois; and if the Land Commission will consider the propriety of acquiring it as soon as possible for the relief of local congestion in view of the fact that there are many smallholders in the area, many who have to take conacre, and many who cannot exist on their present holdings.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for acquisition of this 100 acre farm which, I understand, was purchased at public auction a few months ago by a local farmer for his son.
