Vol. 196 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grants for Thatched Houses.

44.

Mr. Browne

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that, as a result of circulars now being sent out by local authorities to owners of thatched residences, such owners are of the impression that special facilities are to be afforded them in the form of increased grants; and what special facilities, if any, are to be given to the owners of thatched houses.

I am not aware that the position is as stated by the Deputy. The question of granting special facilities to owners of thatched houses is not contemplated.
