asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applications for new telephones made from 1st January 1962 to date, and the number of these which are still outstanding in respect of (a) County Sligo and (b) the whole country.

About 6,450 applications for telephones have been received this year of which 30 in respect of County Sligo and 5,020 in respect of the rest of the country are outstanding.

andMr. McLaughlin asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants for new telephones in County Sligo; and when it is proposed to clear off the outstanding applications.

There are about 100 applications for telephones in County Sligo. It is hoped to clear the bulk of them within the next 12 months.
