Vol. 196 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Islandbridge (Dublin) Pedestrian Crossing.

92.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice if, having regard to the need to provide for pedestrians many of whom are young children a safe means of crossing the main road opposite the swing gate to the Phoenix Park at Islandbridge, Dublin, he will arrange to have a member of the Garda Síochána at that place each afternoon and evening during the summer months.

As I informed the Deputy on 3rd August, 1961, the Garda authorities do not consider that the traffic conditions at this point are such as to necessitate the allocation of a member to point duty there.
