asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will state in regard to Shannon Airport the total annual expenditure, including capital expenditure and expenditure on meteorological and other ancillary services, incurred since its inception to the 31st March 1962, and the total revenue received from landing fees and other ancillary services at Shannon Airport since its inception to the 31st March 1962.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a tabular statement setting out the information sought by the Deputy.

Following is the statement:

TOTAL annual expenditure at Shannon Airport (including Foynes), including capital expenditure and expenditure on meteorological and other ancillary services related to the Airport and the total revenue received from landing fees and other ancillary services.

NOTE: The expenditure figures given above include interest at 4% up to 1948 and at 5% thereafter, together with depreciation at 4%. In the period 1940/1962 interest and depreciation amounted to £4,388,652 and capital expenditure amounted to £4,929,240.
