Vol. 197 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Amendment of Mining Regulations.

37.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he proposes in the near future to introduce amendments to the mining regulations made under the Coal Mines Act, 1911.

It is not clear from the Deputy's question to which of the regulations made under the Coal Mines Act, 1911, he refers. There is no proposal before me at present to amend any of these regulations.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce said, I think, at least three years ago that it was intended to amend the Act in the near future.

I am afraid I have no information in regard to that. There was some possibility of considering an amendment of the regulations under the Act.

That is what the Deputy said.

The supplementary question related to legislation.

Amendment of the mining regulations was the subject matter of the Question.

That was promised a few years ago.

The Deputy's memory is not so good.

The Taoiseach's is not so hot either.

I have not slipped yet.

The Taoiseach is a good skater.

He made one mistake in Hamburg on the Hanseatic League.

Order. There are still close on 200 Questions to be dealt with.
