Mr. Ryan
The existing industrial relations machinery established by the Industrial Relations Act, 1946 has been under consideration in my Department for some time. Various proposals for the improvement of this machinery are being examined in my Department and I understand that discussions on the same subject are going on between employers' and workers' organisations. When these discussions have been concluded I propose to consult the organisations concerned before taking any final decisions on the subject.
