Vol. 197 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment of Incapacitated Persons.

89.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will give urgent consideration to the need for the introduction of a system similar to that now obtaining in England, whereby it is incumbent on employers to ensure that employment opportunities are made available to persons of limited physical or mental capacity to the extent of not less than 5 per cent. of the total number employed by each.

The introduction of legislation on the lines suggested by the Deputy is not contemplated.
