Vol. 197 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rockingham (Roscommon) Estate.

96.

asked the Minister for Lands whether all lands (excluding waste and forestry) have been allotted on the Rockingham Estate, County Roscommon; and, if not, what the Land Commission propose to do with the unallotted portion of the estate.

Of 1,400 acres acquired by the Land Commission on this estate, 336 acres have already been allotted. Arrangements for disposal of the balance of 1,070 acres, including 158 acres of turbary, have not yet been completed but the matter is being expedited as much as possible consistent with the substantial acreage involved; it is possible that a number of local exchanges may be able to be effected.
