Vol. 197 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of County Donegal River.

32.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that over one hundred and fifty tenants are affected by the flooding of the Owenea River, in the Big Glen area of Glenties, County Donegal; and, if so, if he will ensure that a grant is made available for the drainage of this river as soon as possible.

The Owenea River catchment could only be dealt with by way of a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. The catchment is included at No. 28 in the approved priority list of minor catchments which has been published. At the present stage I cannot say when the catchment can be reached in the programme.
