Vol. 197 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tariff Reductions on Northern Ireland Goods.

8.

asked the Taoiseach whether the measures with regard to the lowering of certain tariffs against goods emanating from Northern Ireland, announced by him, have yet been put into effect; and, if not, at what date these measures will be put into effect.

It is expected that a general licence for the importation of certain classes of linen goods will be issued within a week. Substantial progress has been made in the formulation of arrangements for the admission of certain other linen articles and furniture at a reduced rate of duty and of electric motors and paint free of duty. An announcement in regard to the operative date for the concessions will be made as soon as possible.
