As I indicated at the Conference of European Ministers for Justice in Rome last month, I warmly welcome the expansion of the legal programme of the Council of Europe. I have informed the Minister for External Affairs that I am prepared to nominate a representative of the Department of Justice for appointment to the ad hoc Committee of senior officials referred to in the recommendation mentioned in the Deputy's question.
