Vol. 198 No. 7

Committee on Finance. - Companies Bill. 1962: Financial Resolution.

I move:

That it is expedient to make provision for the charging of such fees as may be specified in, or prescribed by order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce under, any Act of the present session to consolidate with amendments certain enactments relating to companies and for purposes connected with that matter.

Is this a necessary preliminary to the Special Committee?

It is, apparently. I am given to understand that this is the opposite of a Money Resolution, in effect. In other words, it gives power to receive fees. The next motion is the Money Resolution.

It seems rather unsatisfactory that Nos. 3 and 4 have to come in advance of the Special Committee rather than after it.

I am advised by people who know the procedure that that is correct.

Question put and agreed to.
