Vol. 198 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Postal Collection.

43.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the dissatisfaction of the residents of the area surrounding the Halfway House, Tankardstown, Navan, County Meath, because of the change in the time of the postal collection at the local pillar-box from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and if he will arrange for a reversion to the original collection hour.

The present collection time, 4.20 p.m., for this rural letterbox is not abnormally early and it has been in force for more than two and a half years. It would not be feasible to restore the former exceptionally late clearance facility.

In view of the fact that a mail van passes by, would the Minister not consider adopting the suggestion in the Question?

There is a reason for this.

It is top secret—nobody may hear it.
