Vol. 199 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Demolition of Dublin Dwellings.

10.

asked the Minister for Finance whether it is intended to demolish the dwellinghouses in the Beggar's Bush area of Dublin; and, if so, what alternative arrangements will be made for rehousing the present tenants in this area in accommodation as near as possible to their present dwellings.

So far as the proposed new Government offices at Haddington Road are concerned, it is not the present intention to demolish existing dwellinghouses. The demolition of dwellings in the area referred to by the Deputy which may be unfit for habitation would, of course, be a matter for the Dublin Corporation as part of its normal housing programme.
