Vol. 199 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Westmeath Housing Grants.

31.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the undue delay in the inspection for grants under the Housing Acts for the Westmeath section of the Kildare constituency from the time that the file is sent out from his Department.

I am not aware that there is any undue delay in inspection work in County Westmeath.

I have found over the past three months that there has been quite an amount of delay in Westmeath as compared with Meath and Kildare.

In actual fact there are only six files with the inspector with a delay of over six weeks. That would not indicate that there was any undue delay.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary not call eight weeks an undue delay?

Not with this Government. Eight years.

The Deputy ought to know that.
