Vol. 199 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Circuit Court Seals.

66.

asked the Minister for Justice if it is a fact that an embossing seal with appropriate inscription in respect of each Circuit Court in the State provided for by Rule 4 of the Circuit Court Rules, 1950, as subsequently amended, was never provided in respect of any Circuit; if he will state the effects of the failure to provide such a seal; and what steps, if any, are now necessary in respect of decrees, orders, warrants and other documents which have not been embossed with the seal since the year 1950.

The seals provided for by Rule 4 of the Circuit Court Rules, 1950, were not in fact supplied. This Rule was revoked by the Circuit Court Rules, 1962, which provided for new seals which it is expected will shortly be in use. The seals at present in use are validated by Rule.
