Vol. 200 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Repair Grant.

8.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a grant available for the road leading from the main Portarlington-Mountmellick road at John Strong's house at Borness, Mountmellick, County Laois, to James Woods' house and northwards to Borness bog; and if he will have this work undertaken as soon as possible, having regard to the present bad state of repair of this important road.

The road in question is in County Offaly, not County Laois. A number of full-cost State grants have been expended under bog development schemes on the repair of this road which is in Hammerlane electoral division, County Offaly. The last grant was in 1960-61 and it was then certified to have been completed satisfactorily.

I am arranging to have the road re-inspected for consideration when next winter's programme of bog road works is being prepared.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary consult his colleague, Minister for Justice, to ensure that the address is correct, postoffice-wise, because it is?

What address?

The address the Parliamentary Secretary said is wrong.

The implication in Deputy Flanagan's question is that it is in County Laois.

It is the postal address. That is the correct postal address.
