Vol. 201 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Bog Road Bridge.

26.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the urgent need for the erection of a bridge on the road leading to the bog at Knockaclare, Listowel, County Kerry, which would enable the local people to cart home turf; and whether, in view of the fact that it is now five years since this bog was divided by his Department, he will take steps to have such a bridge erected as a matter of urgency.

This 90 acre bog was allotted in 1950 and the necessary improvement works were completed by the Land Commission at a cost of £2,300. The provision of a bridge at this stage is not a matter for my Department, but it is open to the interested parties to make application to the Special Employment Schemes Office.
