Vol. 201 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Workers' Wage Increase.

28.

asked the Minister for Lands the reason for the delay in paying the retrospective increase granted to forestry workers; and if he will take steps to have payment of this increase expedited.

There is no wage increase outstanding in the case of forestry workers other than an increase sanctioned in respect of the men employed at the Department's sawmills at Cong and Dundrum. Notification of the acceptance of the Department's offer has only now come to hand from one of the trade unions concerned and arrangements are being made to have the arrears of the increase paid as soon as possible.
