Vol. 201 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clothing Allowance for Kerry Ambulance Drivers.

4.

asked the Minister for Health at what date he received proposals submitted by the Kerry County Council with regard to the granting of a clothing allowance to ambulance drivers; and at what date he expects to reach a decision on these proposals.

On 21st June, 1962, the Kerry County Council submitted to my Department a number of proposals for improvement in the remuneration and conditions of employment of ambulance drivers employed by them. These proposals have been approved with the exception of one relating to the grant of an allowance in lieu of uniform which has to be considered in relation to the conditions of employment of ambulance drivers in the service of local authorities generally. My decision on this particular proposal will be conveyed to the Kerry County Council shortly.
