Vol. 202 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Processing of Seaweed.

7.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make available to the Grass Meal Company, Muingmore, Geesala, Ballina, County Mayo, the necessary technical and financial assistance to enable the factory operated by the Company to be used for the processing of seaweed to be provided by the large number of small farmers living along the neighbouring coastline where seaweed is very plentiful.

I am prepared to consider any proposal that may be put forward by Min Fhéir (1959) Teoranta to engage in the processing of seaweed. I cannot, of course, anticipate what the outcome of my consideration of such a proposal would be.

Questions Nos. 8 and 9 postponed.
