Vol. 202 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kells (Meath) Estate.

29.

asked the Minister for Lands if a farm at Drakerath, Carlanstown, Kells, County Meath, at present owned by a German national, has been offered to the Land Commission for acquisition; and, if so, what action has been taken in the matter.

The Land Commission have this property under continuing investigation. Certain discussions with the owner are pending. In accordance with general practice, the details have to be treated as confidential at this stage.

Can I take it then that it is not correct that the Land Commission did, in fact, acquire the farm on Wednesday of last week?

No, that is not so, but negotiations are going on and I cannot say anything further at this stage.
