Vol. 203 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Man-made Fibres.

26.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether any progress has been made in the negotiations with the British Government in respect of the import to Great Britain, free of duty, of man-made fibres of British origin, which are included in finished products exported from this country to Great Britain; and if he will make a statement in the matter.

Discussions are continuing with the British authorities and I am not in a position, therefore, to make a statement in the matter at the present time.

Is there any likelihood of a favourable decision in the near future?

I am hoping there will be a favourable decision: I cannot say when.

Question No. 27 withdrawn.
