Vol. 203 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Speed Restrications on Fire Brigade Members.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will take steps to ensure that members of voluntary fire brigades will not be subject to speed restrictions, where speed limits operate, when using their own private transport travelling to the scene of a fire.

While I fully appreciate the value of the work done by the members of voluntary fire brigades, I do not consider that there is any need for amending the regulations on speed limits and, indeed, I have received no representations on the subject.
