Vol. 203 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Kells Estate.

72.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have yet concluded the negotiations with Herr Kolln, Drakerath, Carlanstown, Kells, County Meath, for the acquisition of all or part of the Drakerath Estate; and if he will state (a) the acreage of this farm, (b) the amount to be taken over by the Land Commission, (c) the date on which the farm was acquired by Herr Kolln, and (d) the use to which it is now being put.

The discussions with this landowner are continuing. As intimated in my reply to the Deputy's previous question, the details of the matter have to be treated as confidential at this stage, in accordance with the general practice.

Even if they have to be treated as confidential, can the Minister not give the other replies for which I have asked?

I have carefully considered the matter and I do not think I should, pending the outcome of these negotiations.
