Vol. 203 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Admission of Public to Local Authority Meetings.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether, further to a reply of 11th December, 1962, with regard to the admission of the public to local authority meetings, he has received from the Marian Park Tenants' Association, Dundalk, two letters containing further information with regard to the admission of the public to the meetings of Dundalk Urban Council; whether he has yet replied to either of them, and, if so, the date of his reply; and whether, in his reply, he reached any conclusion as to the position taken up by the chairman of the local authority in ruling on the admissibility of motions proposing the admission of the public to the local authority meetings.

I have received two letters from the Secretary of the Marian Park Tenants Association, Dundalk, regarding the admission of the public to meetings of Dundalk urban district council. The letters have raised certain issues which are being examined and I hope to be in a position to reply in the near future.
