Vol. 203 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Dublin Court Notice.

11.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will have removed the notice affixed to the wall outside District Court No. 1, Morgan Place, Dublin, which bears the words "ná caith tobac anso—smoking strictly prohibited", having regard to the fact that the directive in the notice is more honoured in the breach than in the observance.

The Department of Justice have been consulted on this matter and I am advised that because of the large number of people who have occasion to use the hallway outside the court it is important that a warning should be given against smoking. In the circumstances it is not proposed to remove the notice.
